02.05.2017 – In the laboratory

On tuesday, we went to our regular lessons for the first three hours at School. After that we went to the laboratory. In four different groups we tested four substances to test the ability of our spirulina algae to absorb harmful materials, for example nitrate. We found out that algaes can clean waste water. It was a very interesting day!

Neuschwanstein Castle – 1st May

On Sunday we went to „Schloss Neuschwanstein“, a famous castle in the south of Germany. Some of us visited the castle and the others got a coffee or food and watched the beautiful view.

But the following night was special – the night between April and May! We showed our exchange students what we do in that night and they had a lot of fun.

On Monday we went to Lea and had a BBQ, watched movies and played games.

Thursday – Our day in Stuttgart

We spent the whole day on a trip to the city Stuttgart. When we arrived in the late morning, we first went to the Fraunhofer-Institute, where we listened to an interesting presentation about micro algae.
In Connection with that we could watch how they produce algae in a laboratory.
Then we drove into the city, where Mr Keller from the ministery of education showed us around in Stuttgart. Afterwards we had time to go shopping and eat lunch.
In the afternoon, we drove to Metzingen – an outlet city. There we could go shopping too. I think everyone liked it very much and it was a really nice day!

Welcome reception at the district government

On Wednesday, we had the opportunity to visit the district government of Biberach. Mr. Holderried, the Deputy Head of the regional administration (1. Landesbeamter) received our group together with Mrs. Baumann, the head of the school authority. In his speech, Mr. Holderried emphasised the close relationship the Biberach region has with China. He made it clear that the cooperation and friendship between the two countries is not only important when it comes to knowledge and education. It’s also important for economic reasons where Biberach has links all over the world.

As a sign of this cooperation, Mr. Holderried presented towels and loop scarfs to the Chinese guests.

The reception was concluded through a variety of local drinks and some food, where the Chinese guests, the German participants and the officials had the opportunity to get in touch with each other.

Family day

On the first day with our chinese friends, we went to the famous Allgäu. There we visited the skywalk, because that way they could see much of Germanys beautiful nature, the landscape and the mountains.

After the little hike, we went to Memmingen – a beautiful and old city. We walked around, drank coffee and watched the colorful buildings.

In the evening, after the active day, we went to a typical german restaurant. Our families joined us there and we enjoyed a nice and delicious dinner together.

A Sunday in Ulm

On Sunday we took our exchange partners to the nearest big city Ulm, to get to know each other better and showed them the „Ulmer Münster“, the church with highest church steeple in the world. After that we ate ice cream and took a walk on the Donau shore.

Day 2 by Evelyn

A first Impression by one of the Chinese students, Evelyn

It’s a really amazing place. I stopped thinking about what others were doing, and I forgot the land I was in Germany, for the first time, I used the sense of smell to embrace the forest. Air, dry leaves, dirt, and fir trees. The smell of the forest is cold, clean, hazelnut ,but full of life. The brother Kilian jumped through the trees, and I ran with him in the woods.
I taught Johanna how to express good wishes and gratitude in Chinese. Kilian also wanted to learn how to say „Ich liebe dich“. Kilian asked me. So I told him, „I love you,“ and then asked „Who do you want to say it to?“ „Say it to my family and you.“—–奚

我教Johanna如何用中文表达善意与感谢,Kilian也要学“how to say ‚Ich liebe dich.‘ ?“Kilian这样问我。于是我告诉他,“我爱你”,然后问“Who do you want to say it to?““Say it to my family and you.“ ——奚慧琳
